News

Program:

Representative topics of the scientific program (now available the topics of the invited talks) include:

  • Protein folding: Matching theory and experiment.
  • Genomic identification of targets for drug discovery.
  • Application of computational tools to the drug discovery process.
  • What we have learned in 20 years of dedicated computing for theoretical Physics.
  • Connections of biocomputation to other fields (polymers, spin glasses, slow dynamics, and disordered materials).
  • Theoretical tools for protein/protein interaction prediction.
  • Physical bases of protein stability and ligand binding.
  • Computational Complexity

There will be a poster session open to all attendees, eight thirty minute oral presentations, and ten invited speakers.

A special issue of Biophysical Chemistry will be published with the communications presented at the conference.

Microcalorimetry Workshop

Immediately following the BIFI symposium, a special workshop on fundamentals and applications of microcalorimetry for attendees of this meeting will take place. The participants of BIFI 2004 are invited to attend this special workshop in the afternoon of Friday, February 13, 2004. The participants can book an additional hotel night if they wish; they can either book the extra night on arrival at the Hotel Goya, or contact the Hotel Goya directly through email. Note that while the workshop is included in the BIFI 2004 registration fees, the extra hotel night is not.

The workshop program is included at the end of the program page.

This workshop is sponsored by Microcal (http://www.microcalorimetry.com).

The Conference Site:

The Conference will take place at the Paraninfo, the ancient Assembly Hall of the University of Zaragoza, in Plaza Paraíso.

Lodging will be available at the ****Hotel Goya, 5 Cinco de Marzo Street. Phone (+34) 976 229 331, hotelgoya@palafoxhoteles.com. Visit http://www.palafoxhoteles.com for more information about the hotel.
